Frequently Asked Questions
1. What should I wear to class?
Wear comfortable athletic or athleisure clothing that allows you to move freely. For Reformer classes, we recommend form-fitting clothing so instructors can see your alignment. Grip socks are required for all classes and available for purchase at the studio. Avoid loose jewelry and tie back long hair.
2. When should I arrive for class?
Please arrive 5-10 minutes early to check in, store your belongings, and prepare for class. Classes begin promptly at the scheduled time, and studio doors will be locked 5 minutes after class starts. If you arrive more than 5 minutes late, you will not be admitted and will forfeit your class with no refund or credit.
3. What is your cancellation policy?
You must cancel at least 12 hours before your scheduled class to receive credit or a refund. Cancellations made less than 12 hours in advance will result in loss of your class with no refund or credit. You can cancel through our booking system or by contacting us at embodystudio320@gmail.com or (347) 795-6320.
4. What happens if I no-show for a class?
If you miss a class without canceling, you will forfeit that class with no refund or credit. Repeated no-shows (3 or more in a 30-day period) may result in membership suspension or termination. Please respect our instructors and fellow students by canceling in advance if you cannot attend.
5. What membership options do you offer?
We offer several membership plans to fit your needs:
- Unlimited Reformer: Unlimited Reformer Pilates classes
- Unlimited Mat/Yoga: Unlimited Mat Pilates and Yoga classes
- Unlimited Combo: Unlimited access to all class types
- Class Packs: Purchase class credits that expire 30 days from purchase date
Founding member rates are locked in for life as long as your membership remains active and in good standing. Monthly memberships renew automatically on the same day each month.
6. Can I freeze or cancel my membership?
Freezing: Monthly memberships may be frozen for a minimum of 1 week and maximum of 1 month per year with 7 days’ advance notice. A $25/month freeze fee applies, and your billing/expiration dates will be extended by the freeze duration.
Canceling: To cancel your monthly membership, provide 30 days’ written notice via email to embodystudio320@gmail.com. Your membership will remain active through the 30-day notice period.
7. Do class pack credits expire?
Yes. Class pack credits expire 30 days (1 month) from the date of purchase. Unused credits will not be refunded or extended beyond the expiration date. We recommend purchasing packs based on your realistic attendance schedule.
8. I’m new to Pilates/Yoga. Which class should I take?
We welcome all levels! Our “All Levels” Reformer, Mat Pilates. and Yoga classes are perfect for beginners through experienced practitioners. Instructors provide modifications and progressions to meet you where you are. If you have specific injuries or concerns, please arrive early to speak with your instructor before class begins.
9. What if I’m pregnant, postpartum, or injured?
Your safety is our priority. If you’re pregnant, postpartum, or managing an injury, we recommend consulting with your healthcare provider before attending class and informing your instructor prior to class. While we offer modifications, not all classes may be suitable for every condition.
10. Do I need to sign a waiver?
Yes. All members must complete our liability waiver before attending their first class, acknowledging the physical risks associated with Pilates and yoga. You are responsible for informing instructors of any injuries, medical conditions, or physical limitations before each class. Your safety is our priority.
11. What is your refund policy?
Memberships and class packs are non-refundable. However, we’re committed to your satisfaction. If you have concerns about your membership or experience, please contact us at embodystudio320@gmail.com or (347) 795-6320, and we’ll work with you to find a solution.
12. What makes Embody Studio different?
Embody Studio is more than a place to work out- it’s a space to slow down, connect, and truly be present in your body. Rooted in community, inclusivity, and mindful movement, our classes are designed to empower you physically and mentally in an environment that feels both elevated and welcoming. In addition to thoughtfully designed classes, we offer a comfortable lounge area where clients are encouraged to relax before or after class rather than rush out the door.
We intentionally schedule 10-minute intervals between classes to allow time for thoughtful transitions, questions with instructors, and organic connection between clients. This pacing creates a safe, welcoming environment where community can grow naturally and everyone feels supported- both on and off the mat.
